While living in Palm Springs, California, Molly Faris adapted to the culture of her hometown and has been enjoying Golf for over twenty years now. She has a PGA membership, which she can enjoy for the rest of her life. Molly saw her father inspiring the game of golf as his pastime; hence, when she became old enough, she carried out her father’s favorite hobby. She holds an immense amount of love for animals, so whenever she gets time, Mary takes her pups to the mountaintop and enjoys the beautiful weather while hiking. In her spare time, she explores various worlds of writing; however, her niche for storytelling carries the raw intricacies of life.
This book felt so real and personal. I lost my dad a few years ago, and reading Route 47 brought back so many feelings I had buried. Molly’s story is filled with raw emotion, but it also gave me comfort. It reminded me that grief is messy, but also sacred in its own way.

I didn’t expect to connect with this book as much as I did. I’ve never cared for anyone at the end of their life, but Molly’s story made me feel like I had. Her journey is painful, yes, but it’s also strangely beautiful. The spiritual signs, the family drama, the vulnerability—it all felt so genuine.

Route 47 made me reflect on my own family relationships. The tension, the silence, the unspoken love—it was all there. Molly doesn’t sugarcoat anything, and that honesty hit me hard. It’s the kind of book that lingers in your mind and makes you want to pick up the phone and say what you’ve left unsaid.
